ABOUT US

The Kopasz Family

Daniel and Lidia

We got married in September of 2018 and a few months later we moved to the U.S. as international students. We started our marriage on a new continent and a new culture.

Well before we even started dating, both of us had the desire to serve God full-time. Once we started to get to know each other it was quickly recognized by the both of us that our goals aligned. We were, at that time, students at Word of Life Bible Institute Hungary, and through our studies, God has shown us that if we are to serve Him full-time for the rest of our lives, those 2 years of Bible Institute were not enough of education, we were not nearly close to being well-prepared.

Thus, we pursued further education in the States, at Appalachian Bible College, where we both earned our B.A. and an M.A. degree. Being newlyweds in a new culture was not the easiest experience in our lives, yet God in His grace worked on our hearts to teach us valuable lessons through our trials. He shaped our hearts and gave us a better understanding, renewed desires, and a refined vision.

As of today, we are eagerly waiting for the day when our plane lands again on Hungarian soil knowing that there is a God who will take care of us and there is a team who stands in partnership with us in this life-long ministry.

Daniel Kopasz

Growing up in a small village in Western Ukraine as a Hungarian, Daniel saw firsthand what damage religiosity and superstitions can cause in the lives of the people in whose minds God is just another avenue to receive blessings and curses.

Moving to Budapest, a city of almost 2 million people in his teenage years, preparing to be a medical doctor, he saw what damage secularism and the "religion of science" do to the soul of the people who either don't care about the God of the Bible at all or look for answers in New Age philosophy and other eastern mindsets.

His experiences give Daniel a unique insight essentially into all people groups in Central Europe enabling him to communicate the truth of the Gospel, the revealed Word of God to all kinds of people through all kinds of channels. (1 Cor 9:19-23)

Lidia Kopasz

Lidia grew up in a Serbian city, where, even though a Hungarian, she was well integrated into Slavic society. In a mainly Greek-Orthodox and Catholic religious environment, as a daughter of protestant parents, she saw the confusion in her friends about the true God of the Bible. Evangelical Christianity was so unfamiliar to her classmates that some of them thought her family must be a part of a cult.

Moving to Hungary to continue her musical studies she saw the self-indulgent and self-righteous Hungarian people seemingly being satisfied but always looking to fill the emptiness that was constantly present in their lives. (John 4:13-14)

Her insights provide an essential aspect of focusing the ministry efforts of the Kopaszes in specific directions so they would be able to use their gifts where they yield the most return.
